Dacie Moses Operations and Digital Strategy

Dacie Moses House Co-Manager, August 2020 – March 2021

I worked as the Manager of the Dacie Moses (affectionately known as “The Cookie House”) for the academic year, August 2020-March 2021. I designed and implemented operations and digital strategy for the reopening of Dacie Moses. I managed a team of 4 student workers.

We had COVID safe events, both in-person with limited capacity brunches and baking sessions, and virtual gatherings over Discord. I implemented digital programming to manage the Dacie Moses Calendar, baking slots, brunching slots, for contact tracing.

I also managed operations to adhere to COVID safe precautions, managing inventory of masks, plastic gloves for baking and food preparation, cleaning supplies, in addition to maintaining inventory for “business-as-usual” supplies like ingredients for cookie baking and brunch preparation.

I was attracted to this position because of the unique challenge in a pandemic year! Dacie Moses is long regarded as a hearth for community: which was even more important to cultivate at that time. I wanted to be involved with Dacie Moses during this time because I knew I could make an impact and engage the community. The house is also planned to go under renovation for Summer 2022, and I had the opportunity to be involved with the design and renovation process given my experience and expertise as the house resident and student manager.
