CEO and Co-Founder, Moov-it! LLC (October 2018-May 2021)

Moov-it! is an events agency based in Northfield, MN. Moov-it! creates events to promote local businesses and to give students opportunities to interact with the local communities off-campus.

My impact: After a year of studying in a small town in Minnesota, I knew that I needed to do something different for my next year. I found my first year isolating and stifling but I knew that I always felt better after meeting new people and striking up interesting conversations! I also knew that I wanted to explore the surroundings off campus and meet the individuals living in this small town. Moov-it! LLC grew from these two realizations for three more years! The initial impetus to develop a business from these realizations started with Carleton College’s annual Startup Competition — but we continued moov-ing until we graduated (even through the pandemic). This was a great experience. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and am so grateful for this unique opportunity to build a business like this!

Backend Engineering Intern, Vizir, Paris (Summer 2020)

Vizir develops chatbots designed to be used and implemented by non-technical employees within an organization. I helped contribute to their misison by developing scripts to assist in automating the Marketing team’s prospection endeavors. All business was conducted en français.

Microeconomics of Development in Bangladesh Field Research (December 2019)

After spending a term studying microloans and microsavings programs, my class traveled to Bangladesh to see where the industry of microfinance originated. We met with many individuals part of the microfinance industry. My favorite interactions were meeting the beneficiaries of the microloans, and their children who benefitted from the second-generation loans program. The growth from one generation to the next was staggering.

Meeting with the beneficiaries of microloans made possible through programs of Grameen Bank

Process Intern with the operations team at 1871 (Summer 2020)

1871 is Chicago’s leading startup incubator. Working here during the pandemic was inspiring. The spirit of entrepreneurship persisted in this place, thanks in large part to the incredible team at 1871 and the supportive community of 1871 members.

My impact: In addition to developing processes to help 1871 stay open during the pandemic (in-person), I worked with the operations team to construct a journey map for each member type. I interviewed members from all different company sizes and maturities. I created a framework for the journey type of each of these members to be used by the internal teams.
