Why filmmaking?
Filmmaking is a stimulating medium, both as a viewer and behind the scenes! You can be creative with both audio and visual elements in a way that helps build an interesting narrative. You also have the freedom and responsibility to share the story you want to tell. Filmmaking is a very collaborative endeavor as well, which at times can be challenging but it is an absolutely essential part of the filmmaking process. Overall, making films is a rewarding experience for me, I love being able to watch the final product with my teammates and reflect on how far we came from our initial ideation phase to the polished result.
The community at Carleton College has a long tradition of hide and seek with the bust of the famous poet, Friedrich Schiller. This mock-umentary jumps into this game to try and learn more about the history… while trying to seek the bust for ourselves!

After watching several French films for a class in French cinema and culture, my group decided to make a final video to pay tribute to our favorite/most iconic scenes from the film or reimagined interpretations of them.
